This franchise of comedy films directed by Rohit Shetty started in 2006 with the title ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’.
‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’ was followed by its sequel ‘Golmaal Returns’ two years later, followed by ‘Golmaal 3’ in 2010 and ‘Golmaal Again’ in 2017. The story of this series revolves around a group of mischievous and carefree friends, who often get caught in absurd and chaotic situations. These include Gopal (Ajay Devgan), Madhav (Arshad Warsi), Laxman (Shreyas Talpade) and Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor).

An insider told PTI about Golmaal 5 – The fifth part will be a fantasy comedy. We have finalized the names of all the main male actors. All the main actors including Ajay, Arshad, Tusshar, Shreyas, Kunal are making a comeback and this time Sharman will also be with them. Apart from this, Johnny Lever, Ashwini Kaleskar, Mukesh Tiwari, Sanjay Mishra and all other actors will also be there.
Entry of female villain in the franchise for the first time
The source further said- We are still looking for the lead actress opposite Ajay Devgan. The talks are still in the initial stages. The names of two other important characters are yet to be decided, one of which is a villain and the other is a funny gangster-like character. The story has been written in such a way that the negative character will be played by a woman.
