‘There is no need for constitutional approval, India is a Hindu nation,’ know why RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said this

Describing India as a Hindu nation, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday (21 December) said that it does not require any constitutional approval, because it is true. Addressing a program organized on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of RSS, Bhagwat said that India is a Hindu nation and will remain a Hindu nation as long as Indian culture is respected in the country.

In the RSS’s ‘100 Lecture Series’ program in Kolkata, he said that the sun rises from the east. We don’t know how long this has been happening, so does this also require constitutional approval? India is a Hindu nation. Whoever considers India as his motherland, respects Indian culture. As long as there is even a single person alive on Indian soil who believes in and respects the glory of Indian ancestors, India will remain a Hindu nation. This is the ideology of the Sangh.

Our country is a Hindu nation, this is the truth – Bhagwat
Mohan Bhagwat said that if the Parliament ever amends the Constitution and adds that word, whether they do so or not, it does not matter. We are not bothered by that word because we are Hindus and our country is a Hindu nation and this is the truth. Caste system based on birth is not the identity of Hindutva. He further said that RSS has always argued that India is a Hindu nation because the culture and majority of the people here are associated with Hindu religion. However, the word ‘secular’ was not originally part of the Preamble of the Constitution, but was added along with the word socialist through the 42nd Amendment Act 1976 during the Emergency imposed by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

‘RSS is staunch nationalist, but not anti-Muslim’
Bhagwat said that people have understood that this organization advocates the protection of Hindus and is a staunch nationalist, but is not anti-Muslim. He said that if there is a perception that we are anti-Muslim, then as I said, the work of RSS is transparent. You can come anytime and see for yourself and if you see something like this happening then keep your thoughts. If you don’t see anything like this then change your mind. There is a lot to understand about RSS, but if you don’t want to understand, no one can change your mind.
