Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who reached Assam on a two-day visit, inaugurated the new building of the airport terminal in Guwahati. During this, he also addressed a meeting. He also expressed his views on the issue of SIR in his speech. PM Modi said on Saturday, the Election Commission of India has started the process of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) to ensure this. Its purpose is to keep infiltrators away from the electoral processes. But some anti-national forces are trying to save them. The Center is taking important steps to stop infiltration.
In his speech, PM Modi once again targeted the Congress rule. He said that he is correcting the Congress’s mistakes of ignoring Assam and the Northeast for decades.
Congress committed the sin of keeping Assam-North-East away from development
PM Modi said, ‘The Congress government had committed the sin of keeping Assam and the North-East away from development. The country had to pay the price of unity, security and integrity. The era of violence continued to flourish for decades during the Congress government. In just 10-11 years we are moving towards ending it. The districts of the North-East which were considered violence affected, are today being developed as aspirational districts.
PM Modi accused Congress of protecting the infiltrators. He said that the BJP government is correcting the mistakes made by the Congress. Congress gave security to those infiltrators. They captured the forests and lands. This posed a threat to the security and identity of Assam.
Inauguration of new terminal building, CM Sarma was also present
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who reached Assam, inaugurated the new terminal building of the popular Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. Also visited the new building. During this, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was also present. The airport’s terminal building is designed to handle 13.1 million passengers. Its cost is approximately Rs 4 thousand crores.
